Happy New Year! Here are some older pottery pieces, which are now the homes for narcissus bulbs. The two in front were made while I was at Odyssey studios in Asheville, just starting out as a potter. Hardly a foot on those bowls, yet I love the butterscotch color (can't remember it's true name).
Am excited about 2012, namely that I'll be creating a studio in my home after I purchase these two pieces of equipment- first, a Skutt KM- 1027. And, then a Brent wheel too- a C one. (splash pan included). These are two big plans of mine for 2012.
My parents will soon visit and help with the creation of my studio-- making a wedging table and a few other things. Yes, 2012 will hold much good. I'm thankful.Plus, I await the arrival of a mug that I purchased from Jen Mecca. I've wanted one of her ceramic pieces for a long while now.
Well, and I'm already beginning to think of which clay I'll begin to use...... hmmm
All the best to you in 2012. More soon!

Hi Amy...I found you through your comment on Linda Starr's blog. You are going to love having your own kiln; there's nothing like firing in your pajamas.
Good fortune in your new studio.
Oh you are going to be so happy with your new equipment. Oh did I mention I wish I had gotten a vent for my kiln - try to include that in your purchase, I wish I had done that because we can sometimes smell stuff in the house when firing and I don't think that is good for us. It is better now that I keep the fan on a shelf near the ceiling on, but still it would be better with a vent for the kiln, only thing is we have block walls and would have to cut through them which we didn't want to do.
I am thinking of getting a used wheel this year when the ceramic supply place gets one in might like to dabble in that area. Have a good one, happy new year to you.
Great to hear from you both! Smartcat- hadn't thought about that. I'll need to invest in a space heater too, as my garage is COLD these days! Thanks for your well wishes and thanks for reading!
Linda- I know of no one who blogs more faithfully than you! Yes, I didn't mention that I will also get a shelf pack and an enviro vent. Please be careful with the fumes.... I am in the process of deciding just 'where' the kiln will go in the garage- thankfully the outside wall isn't all brick! Happy New Year to you too! All the best-
